Mon, 21 September 2009 What is fueling the anti-immigration furor in the United States? Is it a sincere desire to keep America from being flooded by illegal hordes? Is their a strong element of racism? Our Guest is John Vinson, head of American Immigration Control, shares his views on the issue. Patriot or racist (or somewhere in the middle)? Let's find out together. Comments[2] |
Unfortunately for Mr. Vinson's point of view the world is always "changing to something unrecognizable". A very logical extension of the population growth of our planet is the blurring of both geographical and cultural boundaries.
I don't know where the future will lead with this issue, but the idea that loading a fractional portion of the immigrant population into a bus and the rest will follow them over the cliff to Mexico, is both overly simplistic and too narrow of a view.
The time when the United States can view itself as separate from the rest of the world is over.

It's a mindset and internal politics that determines whether immigration is something that happens in a country. The outside world has little to do with it, if that country decides and acts. Countries can decide to have zero immigration. No advanced country is responsible for the bad government and backwards "culture" of another country. No successful married couples are responsible for, and must adopt parentless kids from the ghetto, either.
Take Japan, for example. Nearly zero immigration. Nearly zero illegals. They've simply decided they have plenty enough people in their country. With the latest technologies, an aging population is not a problem. And, eventually, a reduced population is going to be a LOT better for them. Smart. Real smart. Sustainable. Responsible.
Meanwhile, we see clearly where the overpopulation problem is coming from -- if we're not afraid to tell it like it is: from religious countries packed with ignorant, religious people who seem to think that they live in the Dark Ages. And the solution that these countries' governments have for their irresponsible, ignorant population? They never say, do they? Now why exactly is that? But, boy oh boy, do they get angry when their illegals are rejected and deported, and/or some country clamps down on its legal immigration. Start paying attention to this behavior and you will realize what countries like India, Philippines, Mexico, Brazil, et al, et al ACTUALLY have for an undefined policy on their overpopulation problem. They're simply going to export their problem. Their problem is going to be your problem, because they are not about to deal with it responsibly.
Sometimes the truth is ugly. Trying to slap the big tar brush label of "racist" on people who state the truth, is simply silly. This has nothing to do with race. Zero. Zilch. It's about the survival of advanced countries, and the best interests of their ALREADY MULTI-RACIAL populations that are in danger. If you don't face the truth and admit it and act on it, you go down with the ship. That's what's happening to the US today, and several other countries in Europe. It's probably too late.
Keep immigration legal only, and limit it responsibly, based on the actual needs of the country. That's all that's needed here. But that's not what's happening.
